When a water surface was drained for renaturation measures, the grenade was found. On closer inspection, we realized that the grenade was not loaded with explosives as usual, but with paper. Unfortunately, due to the age and the water storage, it is no longer possible to see what was written on the notes. As a rule, they were requests for the enemy soldiers to surrender and thus save their lives. Then to be warmly welcomed and to eat their fill. But also propaganda information for the population of the enemy country not to oppose the German troops and to greet them happily.

In today's digital age, this is of course no longer necessary and the propaganda or "fake news" is spread via social networks.
